Dr. Michael Karrer
Michael Karrer is an associate researcher and lecturer at the Institute for Romance Studies at the University of Potsdam and specialises in literature and film from Latin America. Other areas of research and lecturing: archive and memory politics, decolonial theories, queer ecologies, literary film adaptations, political antagonism in documentary film. Doctorate at the University of Tübingen on political uses of the family archive in Argentinian and Brazilian documentary films of the 21st century (published under the title “No home movies: usos políticos del archivo familiar en el cine documental de Argentina y Brasil” by Verlag Iberoamericana Vervuert, Frankfurt a.M./Madrid).
