Graduates’ Conference 2024
As part of the annual focus, the ZeM is funding a graduate conference in spring 2024. We look forward to receiving your submissions by September 29!
As part of the annual focus, the ZeM invites applications for funding for a graduate conference with a focus on media studies. With this funding, doctoral and Master’s students in their final year of study will have the opportunity to present their research topics to an academic audience, to exchange ideas with other academics and to invite relevant keynote speakers and experts. The graduate conference is scheduled for January or February 2024 and can be a one-day or multi-day event. The maximum funding amount is 5,000 EUR. Please note the new deadline: The deadline for submission of proposals is 29 September 2023 (see below).
In terms of content, the graduate conference should be oriented towards the ZeM’s annual focus on “Control of Loss”, but with its own thematic priorities. The graduate conference can either take up individual aspects of the annual focus or develop its own approach based on these. Detailed information on the annual focus can be found under Control of Loss.
All information on the call for proposals and the application procedure can be found in the detailed call for proposals starting on p. 4 (PDF in German).
Eligible to apply are graduates (doctoral and/or master’s students from the 3rd semester onwards) who are enrolled at a university in Brandenburg. Applicants do not necessarily have to be enrolled in media studies. This funding is intended in particular to promote the inter-university exchange of young academics in Brandenburg: the application requirement is that the applicants come from at least two different universities and submit a joint concept. Here you will find a list of the Brandenburg universities participating in the ZeM.
Applications can be submitted in German or English. Please note the new deadline: The deadline for submission is 29 September 2023 and notification of selection will usually be made within three weeks.
