At the latest since the breakthrough of digitalization, it has become apparent that cultural studies research is often closely connected with technical aspects or dispositions. The extent to which this is the case will be investigated in the colloquium on the basis of selected current studies. Among other things, the function of social media as a mass medium will be theoretically reflected upon, the possibilities and limits of digital university teaching will be discussed, and the role of traditional dances in modern China will be presented.
