Lecture series & discussion “Creating knowledge. Videographic-essayistic research as an epistemological tool”
Video essays are gaining relevance on an international and interdisciplinary level. Especially in recent years, the academization of this audiovisual form has picked up speed. The Film University with its scientific-artistic research profile offers an ideal environment to explore potentials of the video essay and has launched the project Creating Knowledge. Videographic-essayistic research as an epistemological instrument. As part of the project, several events will take place this September.
In addition to a (closed) practical workshop, Dr Catherine Grant, Dr Liz Greene, and Dr Miklós Kiss will give individual talks as guest in the international Videographic-essayistic Research lecture series from Sept. 14–16. On Sept. 17, the project leaders Anna-Sophie Philippi and Dr Maike Sarah Reinerth will discuss perspectives of Videographic Research in Academia and the Arts and networking opportunities, especially in German-speaking countries, with Dr Johannes Binotto, Prof Frank Geßner, Dr Evelyn Kreutzer, Prof Dr Kathleen Loock, and workshop participants (in German).
We cordially invite you to the public events that take place online! For the full program, please refer to the Filmuni website.
